KCI Airport
Kansas City, MO
Overview
Warm materials were an important aspect of the design focus for the new Kansas City airport interior along with a series of local mosaics preserved from the previous terminals. With over 50 restaurants and shops in the new MCI single 40 terminal airport, the modern commercial design goals included using 240 local firms among the many contractors that were involved in the project. Elmwood was honored to be a part of this new building, bringing several species of woods including Antique Oak, American Hickory, European White Oak plus our signature ‘Vermont Moonlight Medley’ blend of reclaimed woods.
