Traditional white oak has just the right amount of character and charm. The sapwood is light tan to golden-brown in color with variable knot content.  White oak is usually straight grained, but can often be irregular, or cross grained. White oak has been widely used throughout history as a cornerstone wood for most any application and is the wood of choice for barrel cooperage for distilleries throughout history.
