Contrary to their name, rough sawn mantels actually feature a clean, even surface and a more finished appearance.
This rough cut mantel is reclaimed from dimensional lumber and the building materials of old barns. The rough cut wood product has markings from its original use, including fastener holes, nail holes, natural checking and circular saw marks that were created when the beams were originally milled. Every piece is examined to ensure durability of our products, and these building materials have already proven their worth in previous structures.
Reclaimed mantels and shelving may have variations in dimensions up to 1 inch. All mantels are surface washed and kiln dried. Rough sawn fireplace mantels come in a range of softwoods and hardwoods, such as Douglas fir, pine and oak.
