Meet Our People
Mark Callison

Born and raised in Kansas City, Mark is an avid tree huger who loves hiking, biking, skiing and fly fishing. While studying environmental planning at Northern Arizona University Mark learned to love all things reclaimed and, after a three year stint in Seattle Washington moved home to KC and started recycling old wood, Elmwood Reclaimed Timber was born! Soon after starting Elmwood Mark met his amazing wife Robyn who has been a part of Elmwood for 15 years, eventually the two were married and now have two children.

Diane Burbank

It's all in the details and Diane has all the bases covered. Diane brings extensive financial and operational leadership experience to Elmwood. She began her career as Controller for a furniture manufacturing company in Tulsa, Oklahoma. At Mayer Hoffman McCann she managed the team of accountants that prepared compiled financial statements for various clients. She gained diverse knowledge of business operations during her tenure as a Business Systems Consultant with CBIZ Technologies.

Connor Burns

Growing up and working in the family restaurant taught Connor a lot about hard work and working with all types of people. Building on his vast experience playing high school and college football, he learned the value of teamwork. Today, Connor has a well oiled team of skilled wood working teammates that have congealed together and accomplish amazing projects every day. Along with his wife, Ashley he enjoys great friends and spending time at their lake house in the Ozarks.

Brent Kroh

Brent is our fearless sales leader, and can answer almost any question when it comes to Reclaimed wood. A graduate of Pitzer College in Claremont, California, Brent enjoys art, friends and spending time with family. With a daughter in art school in Chicago and another daughter just a couple of years behind Brent and his wife Mary, who is an avid marathon runner are always on the go.

If you have a question, Ryan will get the answer. Like a jack of all trades Ryan wears many hats at Elmwood, from marketing leader to product development to being involved in many of the custom projects going on every day. At home Ryan is a devoted husband and father of three who enjoys time with family, smoking meats and being at the lake.

Robyn Callison

With an eye for style and a knack for technology, Robyn takes great pride in making sure we are looking really good both online and off. From printed materials and websites to social media, her attention to trends keeps our efforts current and consistent. On the home front, Robyn and Mark are the proud parents of two beautiful children. Robyn takes especially great care in making sure every detail is attended to and everyone is healthy and loved.

With four kids at home Jackie knows how to keep people in line. Amazing is a word that just begins to describe how she keeps everything running smooth and perfectly organized. Along with her husband Matt who manages the flooring and custom shops at Elmwood, Jackie makes sure everything is just as it should be every time.

Matt has been with us since the start, employee number two to be exact. With an exceptional eye for wood as well as being a bit of a perfectionist, Matt will always be there to make sure our customers receive only the best quality products, and, since his wife manages samples and finishing he is always making sure she only receives the right materials on time. Matt is an avid fisherman and plays a mean round of golf and loves to spend his spare time with family and friends.

A quirky fellow who prides himself on knowing what's going on all around Elmwood, Heath is the go to resource for all things mechanical. He keeps us running like a well oiled sewing machine and knows every inch of the whole plant. Outside of work Heath enjoys home improvement, making different varieties of beef jerky and spending time with his family and friends.

Keeping everyone in line and on track, making sure every team has the resources they need to succeed and overseeing each and every order meets the highest quality standards, Phil has a lot of responsibilities. At home Phil enjoys being involved with his daughter's school and sports activities and relaxing with his wife.

Pat keeps it real! Always there for his customers, adding tremendous value to their experience through his vast experience in construction as well as Elmwood products. Born and raised in Kansas City, Pat and his wife enjoy good food, travel and spending time with their large extended families.

John Yingst

Whit a vast knowledge of wood, it's properties as well as application, John is a tremendous resource to his loyal customers. When it is time to play, he can be found mountain biking or playing various instruments in his bluegrass band. Both he and his wife enjoy travel and spending time with their son.

Attention to detail is just one of the traits that makes Derek great to work with. His care for the projects and the customer are just a part of what it's all about, relationships are the core. Outside of work, which is rare, Derek enjoys spending time with his two beautiful children and attending sporting events, he's also lethal on the links.

Steady and consistent, Mike always makes sure every project he's involved with receives the time and attention it deserves. With a newborn at home Mike and his wife stay busy with their growing family. When time allows Enjoying interesting music and fine food are favorite pastimes.

Christine is the face and voice of Elmwood, always pleasant and enthusiastic she makes sure our clients have a great experience, from the first time you call to making sure your orders arrive on time and in the expected condition her follow through is unmatched. Know by her grandchildren as "gigi" she enjoys spending her free time with family and friends at the lake relaxing, eating great dishes and entertaining.

If you can dream it, they will make it happen. They're a tight knit crew of wood nerds, dedicated to the craft and up for any challenge you can throw at them. From stair treads and wood tops of all shapes and sizes to complex box beam packages, our custom shop has a deep understanding of the woods and an eye for detail.

Quality and precision is the name of the game and our molding shop is second to none, working within tolerances so tight they can't be measured with a tape measure. Impressive, but that's not the whole story, truth be told they are also true artisans in their own right, crafting our milled wood products with just the right look, from attractive textures to glass smooth finishes selecting the perfect boards for each project.

Our rough milling team keeps everyone stocked with material and running smoothly. From lightly surface planing the rough boards to straight line ripping each plank to the right width for the molding team, rough milling plays an important role in quality control and is a vital part of our process.

Material Management Team

One of the most important parts of our production... With 10 acres of reclaimed and sustainable woods in various stages of storage and production at our headquarters and main shop in Peculiar, MO, as well as another 35,000 square foot warehouse facility at our original plant in Smithville, MO, the material management team is always busy making sure everyone at Elmwood has the high quality stock they need to get the job done on time.

From supplies coming in to all orders shipping out to our customers, these guys are the last quality control checkpoint in a long series of complex processes. It's rough out there, that's why we always go the extra mile and take extra  precautions to protect your products, making sure they land on the job site on time and in good shape.

These are the people who find and ensure that Elmwood has a steady supply of top quality material to work with. It could have been a hay barn in Kansas, an old abandoned mill from the south or even a railroad trestle located in New England, either way, our procurement team is always on the lookout for a piece of history and a good story.
